Grateful to have been chosen to take part in the London Sinfonietta Academy this year, where I had the chance to work on exciting repertoire with some fantastic musicians.
The course was an intensive, five-day exploration of contemporary music, including works by Diana Burrell, Mark-Anthony Turnage, and a new comission by Samantha Fernando; this culminated in two concerts, the first of which was held in the Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre, London. The concerts and rehearsals were conducted by the eminent Geoffrey Paterson, with whom it was a joy to work.
The second concert was held at St Mary and St Eanswythe's Church, Folkestone, as part of the Folkestone New Music Festival. Though we didn't get to see much of the town in the short time we were there, it was nevertheless a delight to be able to perform for the incredibly appreciative audience!
(Unfortunately, I'm not in either of these images - for illustration only!)
All in all a superb experience, and I hope to work with the London Sinfonietta again in the future. To keep up to date with my upcoming performances, kindly familiarise yourself with my Events page, which contains links to details of my future concerts!
